A misty evening and a break for passion

You can feel the shift in the air. It rains more frequently, the wind is howling and the valley is covered in mists. A few days ago we had a whole day of mist(!). Autumn is really here!

The mist went away for a few hours, but while we were eating supper, the mist formed again over the lake. I thought: This is the perfect time to take some pictures! I actually wanted to do a photoshoot, but I was taking pictures of nature instead.

It was still pleasantly warm outside, but at the same time mystical. As you can see on the photo, the sky turned this rosy/blue color and it stayed a long time like this. I love it when the skies look like this. It's a whole different lighting when twilight arrives. The rocks by the lake also turned into a different color.

As the evening progressed, the mist became more thick. And soon It'd looked like I was in a autumn horror movie.

A short blog! But I wanted to share these pictures with you. It's just one more week until Tanno starts working. I'm still hunting for jobs, but no luck yet. I took a little week off to do other things than job hunting, because it turned into a hyperfocus and I couldn't think of anything else anymore. That's a good thing you would say, right? In my case I was constantly applying for jobs, doing a self paced course, but I also was very hard on myself.

At one point I was working all day long until midnight for a few days in a row and beating myself up to push even harder. One of the disadvantages of living in a remote area is that you have less work nearby. And if you also work in a sector where there is not much demand, that of course makes it even more difficult.

So enough was enough, I decided to take a few days off and do what I like. I played the sims 3 in an autumn setting and read two books, but haven't finished them yet. At the moment I'm reading 'Little Women' by Louisa May Alcott and 'The House Beneath the Cliffs' by Sharon Gosling and it lifts my heart. I love reading stories where the main character moves to a new, rural place and rediscovers her passion they thought was lost. It reminds me a bit of myself where I am now.

Even if I don't have a job right now, I live in a place I always wanted. Every no I receive now, gets me closer to a yes. In the meantime I'll continue to enjoy autumn and go bake some banana bread. Maybe also some cinnamon rolls and a pumpkin pie!

Lots of love,
Eileen
