Good news, job hunting and settling down

Hello everyone!
It's now around 9 PM and I got myself a nice fruity treat with apple, plum and grapes. As I am writing this now, I'm nearly finished with my treat. Such a shame, I like fruit so much that I tend to eat so fast.
On the last day of my parents' visit, Tanno and me had a little surprise in our mailbox. After four weeks of waiting, we already received our person number! We didn't see this coming at all, because we thought it was going to take around 2 to 6 months. We've heard stories from our neighbours and other acquaintances that it took really long for them, so we assumed that we had to wait for a long time. We are very lucky that we received our person number so fast. Now we can start arranging the rest like our identification, bank account, insurances and most importantly, Tanno can start working soon!

We've been here for around 1 and a half month now, so how's Swedish life treating us? I think we are getting quite used to our life here. At first when we went to Östersund to run errands and other stuff, the trip felt quite long. Compared to the Netherlands where you have everything around the corner, this is quite far away. But after a while the trip seemed not that far anymore. Instead of rushing and getting ASAP to our destination, we are enjoying the nature around us. Driving through the Swedish nature is so calming. Listening to good music or just talking with each other, makes the trip so much more welcome. If one of us is driving alone, it's just as pleasant. It's nice to be in your own bubble in the car.
If I have my identification card, I can finally buy my own car. It's nice to borrow Tanno's car for now, but also long for my own car. I feel as I have more freedom then.
Last Wednesday our new bookcase finally got delivered. That means I could finally unpack my books! While sorting my books, I felt the urge to sort my books in a different way. Instead of the alphabetical order, I decided to sort them on colour. It took quite the time, but really like it this way. It feels so smoothing somehow. In the future I want to buy more English books. Right now, I mostly have Dutch books, a few English books and one Norwegian book. I would like to expand my English vocabulary, since I use the English language the most right now. And it's also good as work related basis. When I speak Swedish more fluently, I also want to buy Swedish books.

At the moment I'm still applying for jobs, but haven't had luck yet. But after my parents left for home, I decided to dive deeper into writing. In one of my previous blogs, I wrote that I rediscovered my passion for writing and telling stories. I'm currently reading books about copywriting and did some self-paced courses about marketing. I also did a marketing simulation, so I could taste what a typical workday in marketing would feel like.
It's something I always struggled about. Some people know from a young age what they would like to become later. If people asked me what I wanted to become, I told them I wanted to be a hairdresser, mother, something with horses, baker, artist, filmmaker, something with design, farmer, so many things! This week I read a blog about Multi-Passionists and I could quite resonate with that. Having so many passions that you're a Jack-of-all-traits, master of none. But I think there is also beauty in knowing lots about every subject. But that's why also had a hard time in school when we needed to decide what we're going to study. Truth is, to this day I still don't know what I want to become later, but honestly, who does?
Meanwhile while I was contemplating my career, the skies had another surprise for us.

The northern lights continues to amaze me. It's also insane they appear at days when I've had a hard day.
Today, after many days of study, taking courses, job searching and spending a lot of time indoors, Tanno and me took a drive around the area. It was quite pleasant weather today and I wanted to go to lakes nearby our house. We have one right before our home where Tanno regularly fishes now.

It was really nice to be outside again. Sometimes I fall back on my old pattern and stay inside for a long time, even if I have nature in my backyard. I can be glued to my computer sometimes, researching stuff and hunting for jobs. I was diving so deep in this that I almost forgot to enjoy that I'm finally in Sweden. So today was a reminder I need to get outside more. Being near water is so healing and refreshing. I sat in the sun for a long time and I felt myself charging up again.

Now it's around 10 PM and my tea has gone cold, so I will get another cup of tea now. I hope you all enjoyed this blog and I will see you next time!
Lots of love,
Eileen
